Singing Summers

Michael Summers is the new Assistant Choir Director at Ramsey Junior High School. This is his second year teaching; before coming to Ramsey Mr. Summers taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade mixed choir at White Hall Middle School in Pine Bluff, AR.

Mr. Summers was born and raised in Harrison, Arkansas with his brother and sister who both currently live in Fayetteville. His brother has three children and his sister just graduated college.

Although he originally dreamed of being a basketball player, Mr. Summers chose to major in music when he went to college. During his sophomore year, Summers decided he wanted to become a Choir Director.

He is looking forward to teaching the Ramsey Choir, and so far he finds his role to be quite enjoyable, in part because Mr. Reeves is here to help him.

Mr. Summers enjoys teaching the Altos,

“because a lot of times they get the cool harmonies.”

As for his goals for this year he says,

“To grow as a teacher, learn everyone’s names, and watch the choir grow.”
