Super Bowl 51 was played Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, in Houston, Tex. The crowd enjoyed the first ever Super Bowl to go into overtime.  At the end of regulation play, the teams were tied at 28. New England had battled back from a 28-3 deficit, which marks the biggest comeback in NFL history.

The game marked the second Super Bowl appearance for the Atlanta Falcons and the eighth for the Patriots as well as five wins for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady which sets an NFL record. Brady was also named game MVP for the fourth time in his career. Brady completed 69% of his passes for 466 yards and two touchdowns.

Luke Bryan performed the National Anthem to begin the game. Lady Gaga performed the halftime show with a medley of her most popular songs. Starting off with the Pledge of Allegiance, “This Land is Your Land” and “God Bless America”, she jumped from the top of the stadium down to the stage on the field. Several drones were used to help create a flag made out of lights.
