On Saturday, February 4, Ramsey Junior High Quiz Bowl Team, went to the regional tournament. They placed second and advanced to the state tournament. The state tournament was held in Searcy, Arkansas on February 25.  The team, whose coaches are Gia Bethel and Teresa Freeman, has been to state every year in the last ten years and won twice prior to this year.

The State Tournament was held last Saturday and the Ramsey Quiz Bowl team played to win. They place first in the 7A district and the red bracket. They won all 6 games played and beat Central, Pulaski Heights, and Dunbar Schools for first place. Central was in placed in second for the red bracket. One of the starters for the Ramsey team, Sarah Long was named the MVP of the red bracket.

In the blue bracket, Chaffin placed first as well for the 7A district. Both Fort Smith quiz bowl teams won first place. Despite some of the things that happened on their journey, a dropped phone in the toilet, a crying retiring teacher, or an overflowing toilet at 6:30 am, it was well worth the effort. Everyone came home on Saturday happy and smiling. Even the chaperone, Mr. Alexander was smiling by the end of the night.

The Quiz Bowl Team players are: Brooklyn Ray (captain), Cohen Scoggins, Matthew Alt, Anthony Pham, and Sarah Long, Lauren Roughley, Abigail Spiotto, Kaden Hyatt, Theaven Saitang, Rafe Wilhite, Micah Alt, Hannah Owens, Megan Taylor, William Stuart, Cayton Riggs, and Ellia Crase.

Teachers that were involved were: Teresa Freeman, Gia Bethel, and David Alexander.
