Last night, December 5, the Ramsey Junior High Beginning Band and 8th and 9th Grade Bands held their annual Holiday Concert. Ramsey’s new Band Director Ms. Shepherd and new Assistant Director Ms. Smith led the students in a parade of holiday themed music.

The 7-grade Beginning Band started things off with a Holiday Medley followed by Up on the Housetop. Shepherd praised the group’s progress considering most students were new to their instrument just three short months ago. Next up was the 8-grade band led by  Ms. Smith. They  entertained with their renditions of Let It Snow!, An Austrian Carol, and Do You Hear What I Hear?   Shepherd took a moment to recognize the students who made All Region Jazz Band before moving on to the final performances by 9-grade band. The ninth graders played Fanfare Prelude on “Westminster Carol”, The  Moon of WInter, Mele Kalikimaka, and ended the concert with Wassail!  Ms. Shepherd took a moment to acknowledge students who made All Region Orchestra for Brass and Winds, and reminded the audience that All Region Band will be held here  at Ramsey this Saturday, December 9.
