Star Wars The Last Jedi

Rand St. Germaine

The Last Jedi was released on December 14, 2017, to the tune of $208 million. The eighth film in the series garnered both praise and criticism.

The good parts of the movie include the special effects, cinematography, the acting of Mark Hamill and the late Carrie Fisher, and the action sequences.

The bad, unfortunately, outweighs the good. With rigid performances from the majority of the cast, including the perpetually confused looking Daisy Ridley, the plastic feeling of Adam Driver, and the hateable “protagonist” Billie Lourd. The “adorable” Porgs, small creatures obviously meant to be marketed for their cuteness, are an unnecessary addition to the film.  The plot, if you could call it that, has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.

Ultimately, wait for the home release to come out if you really want to see it. Otherwise, don’t even consider touching it. It isn’t worth the time or money.
