Six More Weeks of Winter
February 5, 2018
Groundhog Day is an American tradition dating back to 1840 which is centered around a groundhog determining how much winter is left in the season. A groundhog comes out of the ground to see if he sees his shadow; if he does, we are in for six more weeks of winter.
The most well-known groundhog is Punxsutawney Phil. He is located in Punxsutawney, PA. This year, at 9:37 AM, Punxsutawney Phil left his hole, and saw his own shadow, heralding in 6 more weeks of winter.
