Ramsey Staff

There are several new faces at Ramsey Junior High School this year. The Rampage staff has had a chance to visit with some of them. Please make these new  Rams feel welcome at our school!

This year Ramsey Junior High received a new assistant principal. Her name is Jennifer Prado and this is her first administrative job. She has been a teacher for grades 7 through 12 for 17 years. During her teaching career,  Mrs. Prado taught math in the Van Buren District. An interesting fact about her, is that she has a son in 6-grade who goes to Fairview. In her freetime, she enjoys reading, cooking, and riding her bike. Make sure to say hi to Mrs. Prado if you see her in the hallways.

One of the many new teachers you are bound to see around the school is Ashley Nobles. Recently, one of the journalism staff members interviewed Mrs. Nobles so the school can get to know her better. She teaches 8th grade pre-algebra here at Ramsey Junior High. This is currently her fourth year teaching. Before coming here to Ramsey she taught fifth-grade math and science. An interesting fact she wanted the school to know about her is that she graduated high school in Lubbock, TX and then graduated college at UAFS. Remember if you encounter Mrs. Nobles while going about your day make sure to welcome her to Ramsey.

Scott Nelke is one of the many new staff members here at Ramsey Junior High. He said that before he came to Ramsey he coached at three other high schools such as Sallisaw, Pocola, and Poteau. He also said he has been coaching for 15 years. Here at Ramsey he teaches health and P.E, coaches boys and girls cross-country, 7-grade basketball, as well as junior high basketball. What made him want to become a coach was he had coaches that have helped him the past understand what athletics meant through academics and discipline. He also just love playing basketball. He played this sport in college at Northeastern State University and found out he wanted to become a basketball coach. Lastly, he shared a little about himself such as he has been married for 21 years, has 2 daughters, and loves to play golf.

Daniel Moreno is the new custodian in the building this year, but Mr. Moreno is not new to the school. He worked at Ramsey Junior High last year last as a paraprofessional in the special needs class. A couple of interesting facts about Mr. Moreno include that he was in the Navy for three years, and he has one son and a wife Another thing about Mr. Moreno is that he was also a substitute teacher; he has a bachelor’s degree in early child development.

Mary Sutton has returned Ramsey this year. She has been teaching for nine years now, most of those have been at  Ramsey She left Ramsey a few years ago to be a technology integration specialist with the school district which included five different schools. She is now teaching World History on A hall. Her favorite part of teaching is working with students and getting to know them. Some fun facts about her are that she really enjoys playing golf. She also likes making crafts she even has her own side business of making T-shirts, car decals, or monogrammed items. Ramsey is glad she has returned from her hiatus.

Ms. Lacey Hunter joined Ramsey this year as the new teacher of key codes CBA, and business communications. This is her seventh year as a teacher, six of those years were at Mulberry High school. Ms. Hunter has many years of experience in business auditing and has three children, all  boys.  Please welcome her to Ramsey when you see her in the halls!
