On Tuesday, December 4, the Ramsey Junior High band performed their winter concert. This performance kicks off the holiday concert season at Ramsey; orchestra and choir concerts will follow on December 11 and December 14 respectively. As always, the Beginning Band, primarily 7-graders, started things off. The audience was impressed again this year with how far these beginning students have come in a few short months of training. They played First Christmas March and Band on the Housetop, the latter featured solos by each group of instruments.

Next, the Ramsey Jazz Band performed two songs; swing arrangements called We Three Swing, and Sleigh Ride. After they finished 8-grade band performed three songs; Little Drummer Boy, Two Little Pieces for Band, and African Bell Choir.  Both the Jazz band and the 8-grade band are led by Kaitlyn Smith.

The 9-grade band finished things off for the evening with three pieces: And All the Bells Shall Ring, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Dashing through the Snow. This year Kristen Shepherd, Band Director and leader of the 7 and 9-grade bands, changed things up by having two vocal soloists, Johnson Laranjo and Jonathan  Rosas, perform have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas with the band.
