On February 13 Warner brothers Studios released their newest Romantic Comedy, Isn’t it Romantic.  The movie stars Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids, How to be Single) as Natalie, a young New York City architect. Liam Hemsworth (Hunger Games Trilogy, Last Song) plays Blake, a wealthy, handsome client of Natalie’s company. Natalie and her best friend/coworker have a long dispute over the validity of Romantic Comedy movies. After an attempted mugging in the subway, Natalie hits her head and wakes up in a fantasy version of New York. Everything has become a picture perfect movie version of the world. Natalie’s apartment and clothes are beautiful. She is suddenly appreciated at work, her friends are all stereotypical movie versions of themselves, and Blake adores her.
As Natalie struggles to fulfill the traditional Romantic Comedy happy ending of falling in love so that she can return t her normal world, she realizes that the gorgeous and wealthy Blake is not the man she wants to be with.  The movie is filled with musical numbers and dance sequences, beautiful people and backdrops, and hysterical twists and turns. The characters of Natalie’s best friend/neighbor Donnie, her best friend/potential love interest Josh, and her former friend now rival Whitney are cleverly written with two versions of each – the real world and the movie world. Priyana Chopra (Baywatch, married to Nick Jonas) plays a rival of Natalie’s in this Romantic Comedy world.  The movie is funny and entertaining with a great soundtrack of classic pop love songs.
