Jussie Smollett was arrested on February 21 for allegedly staging a hate crime on himself. On Tuesday, March 26, Smollett was released and the prosecutor (Kim Foxx) dropped all 16 charges he had. Foxx dismissed these charges after the Empire actor paid his bail money and did community service. The mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson are outraged. Even Donald Trump tweeted about Smollett’s case saying,”FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!

His opinion about the case has now gotten the FBI looking into the allegations against Smollett. In even more recent news, Chicago is demanding that Jussie Smollett pay over 130,000 dollars for the cost of his investigation. If he doesn’t pay up within seven days, the city’s corporation counsel will file more charges against him. A city spokesman quoted that,”The city feels this is a reasonable and legally justifiable amount.” Over two dozen police personnel were appointed to Smollett’s original case when they could’ve been working on more serious crimes.

Alas, the case of this Empire actor is still ongoing. (**To see more about his crimes just go to the link below.**)
