     Gustav Ahr also known as “Lil Peep” was born on November 1, 1996, in Pennsylvania but grew up in Long Island, New York. His parents were both Harvard graduates who divorced when he was a teen. He attended Long Beach High, but he soon dropped out to pursue his music career and moved to Los Angeles when he was 17.

     His first mixtape, Lil Peep Part One, which was released in 2015, generated 4,000 plays in its first week. Shortly thereafter, he released his first extended play, Feelz, and another mixtape, LiveForever.  He was described as a “Soundcloud rapper”, his music style was considered emo-trap. Peep described himself as a “productive junkie” and advised his audience to not do drugs. 

     On November 15, 2017, he was found dead on his tour bus when his manager when to check on him in preparation for that night’s performance at a Tucson, Arizona Venue at approximately 9:00 pm local time. He knew he was about to die, just a few hours before his death he posted on his social media, “You’ll miss me when I die.” Lil Peep died of a drug overdose, Mariah Bons gave him the Xanax laced with Fentanyl thus causing his death. He was cremated, and his ashes are now spread in his grandfather’s garden.
